There are many choices for your kitchen worktop with more and more innovative new products constantly entering the market, however most worktops will fall into the catagories below. Which worktop you choose will depend on your own personal criteria regarding aesthetics, practicality and of course budget. At Jackson’s we will happily talk you through the different options and help you to decide which is best for you.

Granite/Composite Stone

Generally considered the ‘Creme de la Creme’ of worktops, these tend to be the most durable and practical option for the real chefs out there or those wanting a real wow factor in their kitchen. Granite is a natural material that comes in many different colours and patterns, whereas composite stones such as SileStone, Corian or Quarrella are all man made, therefore allowing a great degree of colour, size and pattern choice, and in some cases offering antibacterial protection.

Please be aware though that when dealing with any natural material damage can occur, especially when dealing with acidic or highly pigmented foods and liquids, so spills are best cleaned off relatively quickly. Although still an expensive option compared to laminate, both granite and composites have come down in price over the last few years making them a more and more popular choice.

Jackson’s only use specialist stonemason’s whose work we know and trust to ensure that your worktops are made from top quality stone, are templated correctly with the minimum number of joins (safety allowing) and are fitted with expert precision.

Found in a wide range of colours, textures and styles, laminates are still very popular and with ever improving technology being used laminates more and more convincingly emulate the look of real stone and wood.

    Real woods

Traditionally found in the country kitchen, real woods now include contempory choices such as Walnut, Bamboo and Wenge. A beautiful choice for both classic and modern kitchens alike, wood is still a great choice for adding warmth and texture to your room.

    Contemporary Materials

Glass, Stainless steel and even rock lava can all provide effective and stunning worktops, so if you want something different, the choices are endless!
